Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026. A plain-language policy for The Teaconomist, a member of The Monsoon Wire, published at teaconomist.com. Provided in good faith; it is not legal advice. The operator determines the applicable jurisdictions and obtains its own counsel.
Who we are
The Teaconomist is an independent industry publication, produced by an automated editorial system overseen by a real person, who can be reached at [email protected].
What we collect
We collect as little as we can.
- Reading. We measure page views with Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and tell new devices from returning ones. We use this to see what is read, not to build an advertising profile of you.
- Email. If you subscribe to the newsletter or sign in to take part, we store your email address and use it only for that. We measure newsletter opens in aggregate. We never sell your address or share it with advertisers.
- Comments. A comment is stored under a pseudonymous handle, never your email address, which is never shown.
Advertising
Where The Teaconomist carries advertising, it is labeled and kept separate from the reporting. We do not run a third-party ad network: advertising sets no tracking cookies and builds no profile of you, and it never influences what we report.
What we never do
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, build an advertising profile of you, or publish your email address.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the link in any email. It is honoured at once.
- Erase your data with the form below, or by writing to [email protected]. It is confirmed by an email link, so no one can erase you but you.
- Ask what we hold by writing to [email protected].
Children
This is not a service for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has given us data, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes.
